In 2018, I found this small, neglected, and forgotten old cottage for sale. I realized it was diminutive and needed work, but the view immediately struck me as incredible. I was told that many years ago, sand was pushed up along this ridge to provide protection—perhaps from rogue waves or to reduce flooding—creating a sandy ridge upon which this cottage rests. It was built in the 50s, and although it may not meet current codes, it was built to enjoy the beach and ocean as it does so today. With waterfront properties costing what they do, this little place was more affordable than anything else I could find on the west coast of the United States. I combined my love of the ocean and my desire to share with others this little slice of heaven. My hope is that others will see the charm, beauty, elegance, and peacefulness of this magical place.
